About Jackie Kleefield

Jackie Kleefield is a French-American writer, director, choreographer and performer from New York City where her work has been seen on Off Broadway theaters including Theater for the New City, Harold Clurman Theater, Pulse Ensemble Theatre, Ohio Theater, Soho Rep and Ubu Rep. She has performed in many international festivals including Expanded Arts Festival (USA) Field Festival (USA) and Edinburgh Fringe Festival (UK).

She moved to France in 2004 where she made a short film Ripped and TV pilot NRJ in LA. She premiered a French translation of her full-length play Conversation with My Cat at Théatre Pixel in Paris and toured her interactive disco comedy Bar Stories around the Irish pubs of Paris for 6 months.

She moved to Stockholm in 2006 and began producing variety talent shows- her first set of shows produced in 2007 at Atelje Ciresia Art Gallery in Mariatorget. There, she premiered a new theater project The Poem Show performed by herself and two other actresses, one Swedish and one Finnish. She is currently developing a screenplay adaptation of her full-length comedy play Conversations with My Cat and a dramatic film Sandbox in honor of her father's heroic journey across Europe - a boy with his mother alone on the road escaping the Nazi occupation.

Jackie teaches Simonson Jazz Dance and Integral Hatha Yoga at schools and in private groups around Stockholm
